A stroll through the forest

Rajh looked at Tripod when he heard Snow Star call out to them. "Something is up, we better head back." He raced back through the forest and stopped short when he saw the older pup standing not too far from Snow Star and Rain. "I...I see what you mean now. This is a situation." he said still staring at Silver Mist. He turned around briefly to make sure Tripod was behind him.

Tripod rushed to keep up with Rajh. "This had better be important..." he thought to himself as his stomach rumbled. He too had stopped short and nearly bumped into Rajh. "Oh...an older pup..." He paused for a moment, staring at her as if he didn't know what to say. "What brings you here young one?" he said in a soft tone. Clearly this was important enough to call off a hunt for. He looked at Silver Mist briefly and he too noticed there was something different about her but he just couldn't place what it was. He shook his head. The important thing was that she would need to see the alphas if she wished to be apart of the pack.

Silver Mist looked at Rajh with a confused look on her face. She wasn't sure exactly what he had meant but shrugged it off just the same. She then turned her attention to Tripod and couldn't help but wonder what had happened to his leg. She thought it best not to ask though and just answered his question instead. "I have no where else to go. My mother was killed by hunters and I was lucky enough to have hidden myself from them. I am just looking for a new place to call home." She sat herself down and began to remember her mother and how much she wanted Silver Mist to be part of a pack. "I know I am still young and even though I have been able to care for myself for the past few months, I believe my chances of survival would be better in a pack."

Rain smiled at Silver Mist. Even though there was something different about her, She didn't care. Differences meant nothing to her. "Sorry about your mother, but don't worry I lost my family too and I found a new pack." She turned to Tripod and Rajh, "Can we take her to see Naava and Yita?" She remembered how terrible it was being lost and alone. It was a horrible overwhelming feeling of fear, sorrow, and loneliness. She was hoping Tripod, Rajh, and Snow star would agree so Silver Mist too could possibly find a pack she could call home.

Snow Star sighed. She then looked at Tripod and Rajh for a moment. She knew it was their responsiblity to look after Rain for Destiny. "I will escort Silver Mist to see the alphas but Rain, you have to stay here with Tripod and Rajh." she said as she sighed once more. "Destiny trusted them to look out for you and it would be best if you all didn't stray too far from her den." She turned to Silver Mist and nodded. "Come with me young one." She glanced at Rajh and Tripod once more, "I will see you both again soon." Without another word, she made her way deeper into the forest escorting Silver Mist to see Naava and Yita.

Rajh nodded to Snow Star and watched as she led Silver Mist into the forest. He looked down at Rain. "Don't worry, you'll see them both again soon. Now how about that hunt?" He too was getting very hungry and knew how cranky Tripod could get if he didn't get his belly full as well. He looked to Tripod a moment and gave a slight nod as well. "How about it Tripod? Up for the hunt?"

Tripod grinned and nodded to Rajh. "You have to ask?" He sniffed the air, the sweet scent of deer had filled the air. His mouth began to water and his stomach rumbled more.

Rain danced in her spot. "Oh, boy! Food! I wish I was big enough to hunt deer too but I'll watch very closely so I can learn to become a good hunter too." She stopped dancing and turned to the male wolves.

Rajh nodded and headed into the forest. His nose too soon picked up the scent of deer. He slowly made his way towards the herd. A doe would fill the three of them up very nicely. He gazed at each one until he finally singled out his prey. With lightning speed he raced toward the deer and grabbed by the throat and waited for Tripod to help him finish it off.

Rain watched and waited silently in the brush. She wanted to learn all she could from Tripod and Rajh. She did want to be a good hunter and thought maybe someday in the future when shes bigger and better at hunting she would hunt a deer for them in return.

Tripod raced over to where Rajh had the deer pinned down. He quickly lunged himself at the deer to finish it off before signally for Rain to come and join them.

Rain rushed over to the two wolves after she saw tripods signal. "Wow you two were great!" She smiled as she wagged her tail. She was eager to fill her belly but like a good little pup she waited for the ok to dig in.

Tripod nodded for Rain to come and join them. He knew she had to be hungry just like he and Rajh were. "Come on Rain, time to eat." he said with a smile as he began to tear into the carcass.

Vhalin wandered through the forest on his patrol. He stopped suddenly at the sight of two adult wolves who stood just a few feet in front of him. He sniffed the air briefly to get an idea of who they were. "Villain and Rajh?" he said to himself. "No...it couldn't be..." He sniffed again and sure enough his nose had not deceived him. "It is them..." he said with a smile. He started to make his way over towards them with his tail wagging. It had been so long since he had seen either of them. Not even noticing the young pup with them at first he could not help but greet the pair. "Villain and Rajh, it's been so long! I must say I am surprised to see you both."

Rajh looked up from his kill for a moment and swallowed. He could not believe his eyes at the sight of the wolf who was standing in front of them. "Vhalin, what are you doing in these parts?" he said licking the blood from his muzzle. "It has been a long time, how have you been?" He took notice of Vhalin addressing Tripod by his former name as well. "Has it really been that long?" he asked himself in his head.

Rain looked curiously at the wolf who had just made an appearance before them. She didn't know him, so she cautiously stepped behind Tripod. However, her mind stayed fixed on her meal for she was quite ravenous. She knew she was safe with Tripod and Rajh so she continued tearing at the carcass and devouring her tiny morsels.

Tripod looked at Vhalin and his tail began to wag. "I go by Tripod now since the war and well...you know." He looked down at his missing limb for a moment and then back at Vhalin. "We are just as equally surprised to see you as well." he said still wagging his tail.

Vhalin remembered what had happened to Tripod's missing limb and nodded. "Ok then, Tripod it is." he said smiling. He then turned to Rajh to answer his questions. "I was patrolling the territory like Naava had asked me to some time ago but I never would have guessed I would bump into you two here. I have been doing well though and from the looks of it I'd say you two have too." He noticed the small pup chowing down on the deer carcass just then. "So who's your little friend you got there?"

Rain smiled and wagged her tail as she finished her last morsel and her tummy was full. "I'm Rain." She smiled brightly as she greeted Vhalin. She then turned to Tripod and Rajh, "I'm thirsty and my muzzle needs washing." She giggled slightly. She wasn't sure if she was silly or not but she didn't like to have her muzzle blood stained.

Rajh nodded to Rain and walked her over to the creek. He too was thirsty and could use a refreshing drink. "Come on then, this way."

Tripod watched as Rajh lead Rain to the creek. He sat down in front of the carcass and began to tear off a few more bites. With his mouth full he turned and looked over at Vhalin, "You're welcome to join us if you like. I know you're not one to ever turn down a meal."

Rain lapped up the water in the small creek. It was very refreshing. She then danced in the shallow part of the creek and splashed around a bit. The cold water didn't bother her a bit. She swiped her paw in the creek and splashed Rajh. She was completely drenched from the water in the cool creek. She looked at the horizon and saw the sun begin to set in the distance. She then turned to Rajh and said, "Maybe now wasn't the best time to get soaked." She giggled and shook the water off her pelt.

Rajh smiled and nodded. "It looks as though it might be time to head back to Destiny's den." He turned to Vhalin for a moment. "You're welcome to join us. I'm sure she would be happy to see again too." He started heading back towards the den and looked over his shoulder. "Tripod, make sure that Rain is keeping up."

Vhalin followed closely behind Rajh. "It has indeed been a long time since I've seen her and it would be good to see her again and see just what she's been up to." He watched as the sun began to fade. It would soon be dark and the sooner they got back to the den the better, especially having Rain.

Tripod quickly finished his fill of the carcass. He glanced down at Rain, "Well, you heard Rajh. It's time to go back." He gave the young pup a slight nudge with his nose to get her moving and walked closely behind her to keep an eye on her.
